Learn to surf with us

Giving you the perfect introduction to surfing in Bali for beginners, our certified instructors ensure you stay safe and have fun. Our surf trips for beginners provide you with everything you need to start catching waves.
To give you the easiest possible introduction to surfing, we start on the first day with a maximum two-to-one (surfer-to-guide) lesson ensuring a safe and secure learning environment where you can get all the attention you need. We will explain how to handle the board in the water, how to select where to surf and which waves to take, highlighting some hazards in surfing and how to avoid them.

On the second day, you will be working on improving the skills you built up in the pool session. Having a lifeguard-trained instructor for every two guests ensures you get all the attention you need to progress quickly and safely. You will work on mastering your pop-up, finding the sweet spot on the board and improving your stance and body positioning. These core skills must be carefully developed and repeated, enabling you to rapidly improve as a surfer.

On your third day you will learn various techniques in a 2 to1 group class to make it beyond where the waves break and stay in the line-up. Then it becomes possible to start attempting the challenge of catching green waves and trimming forehand and backhand on the face of the wave. Your surf instructor will be close-by, guiding you and advising you on how to improve.

4 x 2 hours

On the fourth day of surfing, we will conduct photo analysis for you to have a better understanding of your mistakes and how you’re surfing. You will also learn to turn the board back-side.

Surfing the green waves: Angled take off, trimming down the line, lefts and rights and making small adjustments to remain “inside the wave”, weight shift (forwards or backwards), and looking where you want to go.

Photo analysis: After the session we will analyse each and every wave you just rode in the ocean. Watching yourself surfing allows you to see where you are excelling and where to improve. Once finished, the photos are yours to keep.

On the fifth day of surfing we are going to keep practicing the turn, talk about surf etiquette and how to cross the waves.
Surf etiquette: Wave priority, paddling out, safety.

Board Management: Turtle rolls, push up and over and board ditch.
